Applying for a House

West of Scotland Housing Association owns over 3,400 homes across Glasgow, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire and Ayrshire.  We provide a range of different types of housing to suit different needs.  This includes tenemental city flats and spacious new-build houses to sustainable new homes in the Commonwealth Games Village.   We also have a large stock-improvement and investment programme, to deliver more high quality homes across the West of Scotland.

What kind of homes do we offer?

The majority of our stock is mainstream accommodation, however we also offer amenity, sheltered and supported accommodation to meet applicants’ needs at every stage of their lives.

Mainstream housing is housing for general applicants. It is provided for households of all sizes, from one bedroom apartments to larger family houses

Amenity houses have a number of features that make them particularly suitable for older people to live safely, independently and maximise their enjoyment of their home. Such properties are generally available to applicants of 60 years or older

Sheltered housing is designed for older people who are still able to live independently.  Sheltered housing developments offer extra facilities such as a common lounge for meeting other residents and holding social activities, communal laundry facilities and an emergency call system. Some of our sheltered developments also provide additional support of on-site housing staff during the day.

Supported housing has an element of support for the tenant which is provided by other specialist organisations. The accommodation may include some communal facilities.
