Giving Up Your Tenancy

If you want to end your tenancy you have to give us at least 28 days notice. You must do this in writing – either by sending us a letter or completing a Tenancy Termination form which you can get access here. Please remember that your rent is due to be paid up to your termination date, even if you move out before then. If you hold a joint tenancy, the joint tenant, must also sign to show that they agree that the tenancy should be given up.

Your Housing Officer will visit you during your 28 day notice period to identify any reinstatement work which you might have to do before you leave. You should also leave your house clean and tidy and remove all furniture and belongings. If we have to remove your belongings or complete any work you were due to carry out, you will be recharged for the costs we incur in doing this. When you move you should return all your keys to our office.
