We are delighted to confirm that further funding has been secured to extend our insulation and ventilation programme across more of our pre 1919 homes.
By March 2026, the previous phase of the programme had delivered improvements to 265 homes and secured more than £1.45 million in funding.
When funding for the remaining properties ended, some homes could not progress. We are therefore very pleased that additional funding has now become available. This will allow us to revisit more homes, including properties that did not meet the previous funding criteria or were previously considered unsuitable.
The programme is being delivered in partnership with Union Technical Services. The works involve injecting insulation into suitable wall cavities from inside the home, together with ventilation improvements where required.
Feedback from tenants who have already benefited has been very encouraging. One tenant living in a top floor flat reported that her home now retains heat for much longer after the heating is switched off. Before the insulation was installed, she needed her heating on almost constantly, but now only needs it for a few hours each day. Other tenants have reported warmer rooms, reduced heating use and an excellent standard of finishing following the work.
We have a relatively short window to complete the insulation works, with all funded installations required to be completed by 5 January 2027.
If your home is eligible, Union Technical Services will contact you directly to arrange a survey. If you are contacted, please respond as soon as possible so your home can be assessed and, if suitable, the works can be completed within the funding period.
