WSHA are trialling a new Estates Team to help with minor environmental tasks around your neighbourhood

Responding to tenant feedback from our latest Rent Consultation, in 2026/27 we’re going to be trialling an in-house Estates Team, which will provide extra assistance in keeping our neighbourhoods safe and attractive in addition to the year-round grounds-maintenance service provided by Idverde.

At this stage, the team will consist of three full-time employees who will respond to issues such as littering, bulk uplifts, weeding and problem graffiti.

The initial trial for the service will be small: the team will operate in specific communities (Camlachie, Springburn and Dalmarnock in Glasgow) for a period of 18 months.

These areas have been chosen due to the amount it is costing the organisation to deal with issues like bulk littering in these neighbourhoods. It’s hoped that bringing these services in-house will can save tenants money as well as keeping the areas safe and attractive.

Starting small will help us to monitor the team and the work they do every step of the way. This will make sure the new service really does make a difference to our neighbourhoods while also providing value for money before we commit to a wider service rollout.

If you’d like to report an issue to the Estates Team, please contact your Housing Officer (if you don’t know who your Housing Officer is, check here).

If you have any other questions about the Estates Team trial, please call Customer Service on 0141 550 5600.

During the trial we will be gathering feedback from tenants – please let us know how you feel and help us build the new service.
