A new partnership project between WSHA, Willowacre Trust and RCHA aims to bring wellbeing support & advice to over 280 tenants a year
Rutherglen & Cambuslang HA, Willowacre Trust and West of Scotland HA are celebrating a new partnership between the organisations that will see support and advice provision for tenants expanded across their areas of operation via the new Advice in Accessible Settings project, funded through Advice UK.
Reaching an estimated 850 tenants over the next three years, the increased provision will include support targeted at families around three key areas: money and debt, welfare rights and wellbeing support.
The new partnership comes in response to Rutherglen and Cambuslang HA’s recent Board and staff strategy planning event which, together with local Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) data, highlighted significant need for welfare rights and financial support in their area, in particular for families. Keen to tackle this, and already aware of the wider welfare rights and wellbeing work being delivered by West of Scotland Housing Association and charitable subsidiary Willowacre Trust, RCHA approached WSHA to explore how the organisations could work together to strengthen local support for tenants and residents.
A joint bid from the three organisations secured 3-year continuation funding from Advice UK which will allow WSHA and Willowacre Trust’s current team to be joined by another part-time member of staff. The Advice in Accessible Settings project team will work collaboratively with colleagues across RCHA and WSHA to provide accessible community-based support to any families who need it.
