We believe that tenants and other householders should not live in fear of violence or abuse. We acknowledge Domestic Abuse to be a crime.
Domestic abuse impacts on the quality of life of victims, their family and their friends as well as impacting on a person’s home.
We have given our support to the Make a Stand Pledge which is a public commitment to take action to support victims of domestic abuse. CIH have developed the Make a Stand Pledge on domestic abuse in partnership with the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) and Women’s Aid. To date, over 200 organisations have signed the pledge so far.
Making the pledge means we will develop and embed a policy to support tenants and staff affected by domestic abuse. We will also raise awareness of national and local domestic abuse support services so that they are easily accessible to tenants and staff.
