New health and wellbeing courses for tenants funded through Glasgow Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund

*Please note we have pushed back the start dates for these courses to allow more tenants to sign up. Courses will now begin at Barrowfield Community Centre on Wed 13th and Friday 15th of September; and at the Charing Cross Hub on Mon 18th September

We are excited to launch our next health and wellbeing courses for tenants this September. These courses are being delivered by the Willowacre Trust and are funded through the Glasgow Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund.

The courses will initially run for eight weeks and include health and wellbeing activities, personal development, and taster sessions. To get the most out of the course, we recommend that participants are available to attend all eight weeks. The aim is for participants to improve their health and wellbeing and give them a better understanding of the activities and services available locally. The courses will enable participants to realise that life is full of opportunities and support them to pursue these opportunities with confidence.

We ran our first course in May, which was fully booked. Course participants said:

“I enjoyed the whole experience of the health and well-being course. This included getting to know new friendly people. It also gave me a more positive outlook on my everyday activities. I’m really looking forward to the next part of the course and to learn more.”

We are running a further three courses in September: one based at our Charing Cross Hub (31 Ashley St, Glasgow G3 6DR), starting Wed 6th September; and two running from the Barrowfield Community Centre (67 Yate St, Glasgow G31 4AQ), beginning Monday 4th September and Friday 8th September respectively. The courses are informal, free, and open to WSHA tenants and local community members aged 16+. The courses will run 10am to 2.30pm, with lunch and refreshments provided.

There are 12 places available for each course. Places will be awarded on a first come first served basis and need to be prebooked.
