West of Scotland Housing Association is extremely proud of our ambitious young colleague, Technical Officer Craig Doyle, as he continues to build a stellar career in Housing with his appointment to the CIH Futures Scotland Board.
Launched in 2017, CIH Futures Scotland is a dynamic community of young housing professionals dedicated to shaping the future of the housing sector. Designed to empower and amplify the voices of younger Chartered Institute of Housing members, CIH Futures Scotland helps to make sure that the housing profession in Scotland reflects the diverse society the organisation serves.
Through collaborative projects, networking opportunities, and advocacy, CIH Futures Scotland aim to highlight housing as a career of choice, promote the benefits of professionalism, and support the ongoing development of young professionals in the housing sector.
Since joining WSHA as Assistant Technical Officer on a government funded placement in 2017, Craig has been dedicated in taking advantage of the opportunities offered to him and establishing himself as a valuable and highly-skilled member of the WSHA team. Craig remained with WSHA until 2019 when he left to further his education with Glasgow Clyde College, gaining the certifications required to become a qualified Technical Officer. Just before graduating, Craig rejoined WSHA as a Technical Officer on a temporary basis before being made a permanent member of the team in 2024.
Since then, Craig has proven himself a proactive, ambitious and conscientious colleague, leading on initiatives for the organisation including advances around sustainability and Artificial Intelligence.
On his appointment to the CIH Futures Scotland Board, Craig said:
“By joining CIH Futures I want to help shape the future of housing and bridge the professional gap between young people just entering the sector and its experienced leaders. I’m keen to help younger people understand the wide range of career paths available in housing, and to show that it’s a sector with strong opportunities and real purpose.
I also hope to build on my own skills, particularly in governance and leadership, so I can bring fresh knowledge and confidence back into my role at WSHA and support the organisation as best I can.”
Chief Executive of West of Scotland Housing, Simon Fitzpatrick said:
“I am delighted to see Craig’s well-deserved appointment to the CIH Futures Scotland Board. He has demonstrated resilience and ambition throughout his career, with a determination to continue his professional development. At West of Scotland Housing Association we are committed to working closely with the CIH and drive professionalism in the sector. We look forward to Craig playing a part in shaping the direction of housing for years to come, alongside the rest of our brilliant young employees.”
