A statement from Director of Development & Asset Management Karen Shaw and the Board of West of Scotland Housing Association following Cabinet secretary for housing Màiri McAllan's unveiling of the Scottish Government's Housing Emergency Action Plan this week:
'West of Scotland Housing Association is encouraged by the Scottish Government’s recent Housing Emergency Action Plan and supports its commitment to ensuring everyone in Scotland has access to a safe, warm, and affordable home.
The scale of the challenge demands collective action across all sectors and as a developing landlord we will continue to work with our partners to maximise and accelerate opportunities to deliver high quality affordable housing across our communities. We particularly welcome the increase and longer-term investment commitment of £4.9 billion over the coming four years and doubling the acquisition fund to £80m and as more details emerge on this, we will look to drive forward plans that will enable us to play our part in tackling the housing crisis'.
