Over 800,000 households in the UK are eligible for Pension Credit but have not claimed it. With the government’s recent announcement that the Winter Fuel Payment will now be means-tested, it’s more important than ever to understand the benefits of claiming Pension Credit.
To qualify for Pension Credit, you must live in the UK, have reached State Pension age, and have a weekly income below the specified thresholds of £218.15 for singles and £332.95 for couples. By claiming Pension Credit, you not only secure the Winter Fuel Payment but also gain access to other valuable benefits like free TV licenses and council tax reductions.
To qualify for the Winter Fuel Payment, you must be over State Pension age and receiving Pension Credit, Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, or Universal Credit.
It’s important to check your eligibility and apply, as many miss out on this valuable support. Don’t let this happen to you.
Apply before December 21st to recieve the Winter Fuel Payment and a 3-month backdated Pension Credit payment
