The July 2023 edition of Westworld - the official newsletter of West of Scotland Housing Associaition - is now available and can be read online here.
In this issue we reflect on the results of our Cost of Living survey, which went out earlier this year. The survey gathered over 700 responses - more than any other previous WSHA survey - and we have used the information and data gathered from this to begin putting into place a cost of living crisis action plan, to guide us in putting in place additional support for our tenants.
You can also read more about the services WSHA currently provide, including support and advice from our friendly and knowledgable Welfare Rights and Income Maximisation teams, who will help you take control of your income and expenditure and are on had to help should you find yourself unable to pay your rent. There is also more detail around the additional support you can access through our charitable subsiduary, Willowacre Trust, including free money and energy advice, access to upcycled goods and our popular handyperson service.
As a social landlord, listening to our tenants' views and voices is an important step in our decision-making process. In August we'll be holding two online focus groups asking tenants what their priorities are moving forward regarding rents, services and investment in their homes. The results of this consultation will feed into our ongoing cost of living crisis action plan and help us make the best decisions regarding service delivery for you and your homes. All tenants are invited to attend, and the focus groups are held online to make sure as many as possible can make it along. You can read more about the focus groups on page 5 of Westworld.
Tenant priorities around rents, services and investments focus groups: Thursday 24th August: session 1 at 3.30-4.30pm, or session 2 at 6.30-7.30pm. More information on how to access these sessions will be made avialable nearer the time.
